House Rules

Please take a moment to read these — every guest is asked to acknowledge them before a stay.

Our hope is simple: enjoy the house and its facilities respectfully, and leave it as you found it — neat and tidy.

No one wants to be the fun police, but to protect the property and respect our neighbours, the rules below are in place. All bookings are subject to guests acknowledging these rules, together with our Terms & Conditions, and being comfortable with them.

The rules

  • No parties
  • No smoking or vaping inside, and no shisha pipes anywhere on the property — deck or indoors
  • No pets — this is an allergy-friendly home
  • Maximum 13 people staying at the property, including babies
  • No cooking curries or seafood inside the house — there's a large BBQ outside that's perfect for these
  • No sleeping on the sofas
  • Indoor furniture is to remain indoors
  • No moving furniture
  • No additional guests camping on the property in cars, campers, swags, tents or similar — the house is for those included in the booking to enjoy, not for extended groups
  • Rubbish & bins — all rubbish is to be placed in the outside wheelie bins, and the bins put out kerbside at the top of the driveway according to the council schedule. If you depart on a Sunday, or stay over a Sunday, please put the bins out on Sunday night — the council empties them early Monday
  • Please don’t feed the cockatoos that may visit you on the deck. When fed, they get bored and become destructive — they’re known to eat the wooden houses around Lorne — and they can carry disease. If feeding leads to extra mess on the deck, additional cleaning charges will apply

Before you leave

A quick checklist for departure day:

  • Switch off all heaters, fans, and the stove and oven.
  • Turn off the A/C switch in the outside electrical box.
  • Close all windows.
  • Close and lock all doors and gates, as they were on arrival.
  • Empty the rubbish into the wheelie bins — general waste in the maroon bin, recycling in the yellow bin — then leave the bins at the top of the driveway facing the road.
  • Ensure the BBQ is clean and the cover is back on.
  • Clean the dishes. You’re welcome to load the dishwasher and run it as you leave — please don’t put dirty dishes away in cupboards or drawers.
  • Return the keys to the locked key box and the bowl on the table.
  • Stripping the bed linen (excluding protective covers) is appreciated.
By confirming a booking, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these house rules, together with our Terms & Conditions.
